Small yha. Has a lovely enclosed garden with things for smaller kids to play with. They offer cooked breakfast. Nice feel. About 10 mins walk to pubs. Restaurants and the gorge itself. We used this as part of a mini adventure. With a 2 day walk from woodbough and back.

A group of friends and I booked the whole hostel, as it was cheaper than holiday cottages, in a great location, and enabled us to put the kids to bed but the adults stay up in the communal area. Parking is tight but sufficient. Beds are comfy, but wrapped in plastic so in the hot weather it gets a bit sweaty. Clean, but basic. Areas of wear. But we're already talking about making it our annual meeting place.

Nice clean room! With some lovely hilly views at a bargain! Definitely family friendly with a beautiful garden with picnic benches and games for the little ones. Staff very welcoming with lots of fun recommendations for the local area.

Brilliant base to stay when exploring the area. This was our first visit to a YHA, wasn't sure what to expect...a very warm welcome, has a great ethos and the place was really clean! I think if you don't mind a travelodge you'd like this place (just without the TV and room kettles but you can make plenty of cuppas downstairs) rooms are just for sleeping with bunks and a basin, there's loos and showers that are simple for the job. The communal areas are comfortable and adequate for what we needed. There's storage areas for your food in the kitchen which I hadn't realised and recycling bins. Sadly we arrived a little late to use the garden/outside and only stayed a night, beds were super comfy and the area was so quiet! will definitely visit again.

Cheap and cheerful idea for the kids really really clean!!!! Helen on the front desk was a absolute star 🌟 she was very helpful, gave us loads of information about the area n helped us out on more than one occasion she was lovely to chat too and my 2 girls thought she was really nice n my girls r hard to please lol!!! I suffer really bad with anxiety n it was at a all time high when booking in n within 2minutes of booking in with Helen I felt at ease xx

I stayed here Tuesday night and would definitely stay here again. Accommodation is so close to Cheddar village centre and the caves, brilliant location. I stayed in a private room with shared showering/ toilet facilities, everything, including kitchen, was spotlessly clean and showers were really hot and good pressure. Staff were super lovely and gave good local recommdations. Can't fault! On site parking.

Very impressed with the cleanliness of this hostel. The areas I saw looked as though they had recently been decorated and were in good condition. If you are not used to youth hostels, be prepared for slightly more basic amenities in rooms, but otherwise great for affordable self catering using the shared kitchen. The location was ideal for walking to the Gorge and the staff were helpful.

We stayed at YHA Cheddar for two days. We were in a 4-person, 2-bunk bed room with a small sink. It was clean and comfortable. The communal shower and toilet facilities were very small but clean and well maintained. The location is great - tucked behind a primary school in a quiet part of town. We did miss the road on first pass as it is very small. My only complaints are that the WiFi was unreliable in our room and while there were laundry facilities in our building we were not allowed to use them. Otherwise it was a friendly, safe, hostel experience.

Lovely warm welcome from the lady on reception when we arrived. Hostel is immaculately clean & the kitchen well equipped with everything we needed. Our room was downstairs facing the car park so we didn't have a view but more than adequate for what we needed. Very comfy bed & excellent shower. Great location for walking & town amenities. I

The hostel is in the centre of Cheddar village, next door to the primary school; a quiet part of the village. The approach road is tiny and easily missed so the school is a useful landmark. Fairly large car park. Staff helpfully provided an A4 street map showing routes to The Gorge (about a 15 minute walk), local supermarkets and pub restaurants. The hostel occupies two buildings and your room could be in either. Make sure you check out the main building which has the most character and a garden area. Wash basin in room, plus plenty of shared showers and toilets (well maintained) and a washing machine and drying room. Well equipped kitchens. Bunk beds are sturdy - no squeaks or wobbles. Doesn’t have the USB bedside lights upgrade yet, so make sure you have a 3 pin phone charger plug. Pleasant communal lounge areas. Excellent value for money.
